Position Description For Project Engineer

Reports To: Vice Presidents

Basic Function:

The Project Engineer will support the Project Manager to ensure the project meets the goals of being high quality, on schedule and on budget. The position promotes teamwork and customer satisfaction while possessing strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project schedule with project manager and superintendent input
  • Participates as a project team member in quantity take-off, pricing, and receipt of sub-bids
  • Oversee and manage the submittal and RFI processes
  • Reviews and approves monthly subcontractor and vendor pay applications
  • Reviews and maintains project logs, drawings and plans
  • Be able to communicate effectively with all parties involved in selected assignments including clients, project staff, subcontractors and owners
  • Assists the Project Manager in project closeout and ensure all warranties and closeout documents are submitted properly and timely
  • Demonstrates a general understanding of terms and conditions of owner contracts and subcontracts

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field. In lieu of these requirements, relevant experience may be considered
  • Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office. Experience with Project Management software and P6 scheduling software preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations
  • Ability to build relationships with team members that transcend a project
  • Able to work with minimal oversight, but take direction effectively from managers
