Buena Vista University Residence Hall – Storm Lake, Iowa

DCI Group completed construction of a modern, four-story residence hall at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa, providing comfortable student living spaces. The building features two-bedroom units, each with a private bathroom, as well as a fitness center on the first floor and laundry facilities on every floor. The exterior combines brick, EFIS, stone, and glass to create an attractive, contemporary appearance.

The project included demolition of an existing dormitory attached to a structure that remains on campus. Working closely with the City, DCI Group coordinated a demolition package followed by earthwork, utilities, and foundation construction so that work could proceed while the building design was finalized. The existing dorm was demolished in summer 2023, allowing sitework and foundations to begin in August 2023, before students returned to campus. Design and permitting were completed in September 2023, keeping the project on schedule. The residence hall was completed in Fall 2025.
