Capitol Windows Rehabilitation

Project consisted of the rehabilitation of existing historical windows and historical doors on the Iowa State Capitol Building.

Scope of work included scaffolding five stories around the Capitol building, stripping existing sand textured finish from window frames and sills, rehabilitation of existing deteriorated wood, and application of new finish. Scope also included stripping and refinishing historical doors to match original finish. This project required close coordination with the State of Iowa’s facilities management and historical preservation team to ensure the integrity of the historical aspects of the windows are maintained.
