DCI is currently advancing through the construction and preconstruction phases of these projects. Major renovations and additions are planned for the K-12 building. In June 2017, construction began on the new 15,000-square-foot CTE Maintenance Building, which will house a new wood and metal shop, classrooms, and space for the school’s maintenance staff and supplies.
The next phase involves converting the existing wood metal shop into a fine arts department with choir rooms, high school and elementary band practice areas, and staff offices. A 600-seat auditorium will also be built for fine arts, productions and community events. As the projects occur during school hours, careful logistics planning is necessary. Construction at I-35 schools is expected to be completed by Summer 2019.
