DCI Group is currently performing preconstruction services for a 350,000 SF student housing building along Riverside Drive and Myrtle Avenue in Iowa City, Iowa.
The approximate 300-unit building will be a mix of one, two and three bedroom units for a total of approximately 650 beds. Construction of the wood frame structure, ranging from four to six stories, will commence early 2023 and will have a summer of 2025 completion. The site has a 50’ drop of elevation from west to east requiring the installation of several retaining walls. The building layout allows for two outdoor courtyards that will include a swimming pool, grilling areas and sitting areas for students to socialize and or study outdoors. Also on the site will be a 335 stall parking garage on the south side of the property along the Iowa Interstate Railroad.
